„Basis of Legal Culture “ - teamwork of teachers and school resource officers | 30 Mar 2015


The lessons - “Basics of Legal Culture” has been delivering on regular basis in the GE Calls participant schools of four different regions: Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi and Batumi.  The teacher delivers the course in couple with school resource officer.
The monitoring of the component once again revealed that the lesson delivered by teacher together with SRO  is very important and effective. The attitude of students towards certain issues and towards the SROs have changed immensely. The lessons have facilitated the communication between teachers and RSOs, school administration acknowledge the role of RSO in prevention of disciplinary violations.

School conflict management - workshop with psychologists | 25 Mar 2015


On March 20-22, GE Calls-participant schools from Rustavi had an opportunity to participate in workshop with psichologists and discuss psichological aspects and issues for school conflict management.
Participants thoroughly analyzed certain real cases and planned specific resolution methods. Workshop was led through role-playing and discussions. Following topics were analyzed: principles of interaction with children with emotional and behavior problems, methods of speaking to children, techniques of active listening, suggested and useful terms to be used while conversation and other.

Civic Responsibility Board Meet with Police Officer | 10 Mar 2015


Participants of Civic Responsibility Board had a meeting with Zaza Gegeshidze, a neighborhood police officer. It was a Q&A session, during which the students received information that will assist them during their work.

GE CALLS-funded Vocational Courses Start in Terovani | 26 Feb 2015


GE CALLS funded another project in the framework of Community Initiatives Grants Program. New Generation for Better Future is a vocational education project working in IDP settlement of Tserovani.

With support of local government of Tserovani, which is a dense settlement built after 2008 war with Russia and populated by IDPs from South Ossetia, the project group arranged three vocational courses

Civic Responsibility Board – a new project funded in the framework of GE CALLS Community Initiatives grants program. Project aims at preventing juvenile crime via raising children’s legal and civic awareness, using the method of problem-based learning, or simulation games.

GE CALLS Batumi Project Trains Agents of Democracy | 24 Feb 2015


Agents of Democracy – GE CALLS-funded project in Batumi aims at preventing juvenile crime via raising children’s awareness on civic responsibilities, democratic values, involving them into civic activities.
The Democracy Agents School was founded in the framework of the project, where 25 students from 5 Batumi schools will receive theoretical knowledge about democracy, human rights, gender equality etc.

Joint art-project between GE CALL's participant schools “Art and Human” | 29 Jan 2015


Apart, from legal culture lessons GE CALLS-participant schools are actively implementing several activities in the frames of the action plans created on Ge Calls trainings.  As part of networking and cooperation with other participant schools from another region, Kutaisi school #17 and Rustavi school #6 organized a joint creative project. Teacher of art from Rustavi school #6 organized a joint photo-exhibition in the frames of GE Calls program.  In one day, students managed to perform photo shooting, printing and exhibiting their works in one of the halls of Kutaisi school #17.  The title of the exhibition was “Art and Human”.  Around 40 students were involved in the project, each has presented three photos. The exhibition proved to be very impressive for the guests, among which were students, parents, teachers, school resource officers and other.

Training of civil education teachers and police officers | 26 Jan 2015


GE Calls held training for Civil Education Teachers and local police officers.  Upon completion of the sessions 20 schools from Kutaisi, Batumi, Rustavi and Tbilisi will start the course of “legal Culture”. The teacher and the police officer will deliver it together to the class. The goal of the course is to prevent juvenile crime and disciplinary deviations.The training was led by the education experts, psychologists and also by the police officers that have been involved in the program for several years. They have broad practical experience, as well as, epxerience of delivering “legal culture lessons” at schools.

The Academy of Success Grand Opening at Sunny House Office | 20 Jan 2015


On January 11 the project Step Forward – Academy of Success had its opening ceremony at the office of Non-formal Education Center Sunny House.
The project is implemented in the framework of GE CALLS Community Initiatives Grants Program, funded by US Department of State’s International Agency of Narcotics and Law Enforcement.
The project is based on Harry Potter theme: The Academy of Success is a representation of Hogwarts in Georgia, founded by the order of its headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.

Armenian resource officers visiting Georgia | 4 Dec 2014


As part of the exchange program between PH international Georgia and PH International Armenia, ten Armenian resource officers visited Georgia. The goal of the visit was to share experience concerning the cooperation between the schools, police and other structures.

During the visit, several interesting meetings were held at the Office of Resource Officers, at schools and the police academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The guests attended the lessons at schools that were delivered with participation of resource officers and police officers. At the MIA Police academy, they had a chance to meet with several department heads and to discuss several topics, such as community-oriented police, domestic violence, juvenile questioning procedure specifics, and staff recruitment, training and other. They also observed different learning and training facilities of the academy.
