Training of civil education teachers and police officers

GE Calls held training for Civil Education Teachers and local police officers.  Upon completion of the sessions 20 schools from Kutaisi, Batumi, Rustavi and Tbilisi will start the course of “legal Culture”. The teacher and the police officer will deliver it together to the class. The goal of the course is to prevent juvenile crime and disciplinary deviations.

The training was led by the education experts, psychologists and also by the police officers that have been involved in the program for several years. They have broad practical experience, as well as, experience of delivering “legal culture lessons” at schools.

The training covered several topics related to the youth, relevant legislation and psychological aspects. Nevertheless, large part of the training was dedicated to the practical activities and workshops. Participants gained an insight into the methods of cooperation between police officers and teachers, took advice about the first day of the course and analyzed each potential questions that may be posed by the students. Discussed the topics that are of particular interest for students; also,  tone of discourse while delivering the lesson and appropriate terminology.

By delivering the training, expert and trainer police officers demonstrated how the professionals from two different fields can team up to deliver the course. On the last session, participants created lesson plans and presented them for each topic listed in the book. Later received feedback and practical recommendations from the experts.
