Following the youth forum, which was held in Shida Kartli region this fall, school-based civics club students initiated different activities to advocate for the road safety in Surami.

Selected students showed dedication and professionalism while engaging in the weekly GNML Online sessions beginning in September 2013. Over 90 GNML Online students applied for participation in the Youth TechCamp.

Civics club students initiated establishment of civics corners at central libraries in Lanchkhuti and Ozurgeti, Guria regio

Started in 2013, IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark continues its work in 2014. The project aims to assist socially unprotected youth, including unemployed youth, young people with disabilities, and others to get computer and other employability skills necessary in the modern job market.

The indicated aspects are very acute for youth. In 2014, the project focuses on supporting developing skills needed for starting one’s own business or social entrepreneurship. However, helping developing job search and other employability skills also continues to be a priority. A considerable part of youth beneficiaries of the project in 2013 are graduates of educational institutions today and tomorrow, and getting the first work place after graduation was and remains the most important task for them.

Civics club students of Batumi public school #14 decided to carry out informational campaign to prevent people from cutting down Christmas trees.

On December 30, Khashuri Youth Club members held charity event. The students collected food and clothes from population, shops and various organizations.

On December 13, 2013, Tbilisi hosted public presentation of the Civics Teacher’s Forum as part of the USAID funded ACETT program.

Civics club students of Gardabani public school #1 found out that local kindergarten has no facilities for showing cartoons for kids. Club members decided to organize cartoon session at kindergarten by using the office equipment which school civic club received from ACETT program as part of the technical equipment competition

In Chiatura “Civic Clubs Park” was launched by the decision of local municipality. Initiative started from the school based civics club students who often organized different civics activities on the territory of park. Establishing of the park was initiated at the Youth Forum as a part of environment protection project, in April 2013.

50 civics club students and civics teachers from various partner schools of the ACETT program gathered to visit several organizations in one day where students could get information about structure and functions of the governmental and business organizations.
