Civics Club Corners at Central Libraries in Guria region

Georgia | Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training (ACETT) program for Georgia | 15 Jan 2014

Civics club students initiated establishment of civics corners at central libraries in Lanchkhuti and Ozurgeti, Guria region. Students came up with this idea during their visit to the library and have delivered ACETT civics textbooks to libraries. These corners will benefit visitors who want to gain more knowledge about civics. Students plan to arrange photo exhibitions of their successful projects and civics activities and thus promote civic involvement among youth in the region. “Arrangement of the civics club corners in the libraries is a good opportunity for the promotion of the civics club activities and civic education in general. Photo exhibitions reflecting civics activities will be regularly organized and will provide good information sharing opportunity among the peers” – mentioned Marika Khozrevanidze, a civics club student from the village Laituri public school.
