Public Presentation of Civics Teacher’s Forum

On December 13, 2013, Tbilisi hosted public presentation of the Civics Teacher’s Forum as part of the USAID funded ACETT program. After operating for more than two years as a non-formal network of civic education teachers nationwide, in May 2013 non-formal network became a registered national professional body of Civics Teachers uniting 300 registered members. The event was facilitated by Ms. Nini Beselia, the Chairman of the Forum who presented newly established organization, its vision, mission and services offered by the Forum. Ms. Marina Ushveridze, ACETT Program Director and Niko Silagadze, History and Civic Education Expert from the Ministry of Education and Science made opening remarks. Board Member of the Civic Education Forum, Ms. Nino Eremashvili presented new website of the Forum www.ctf.org.ge followed by the announcements and speeches from the auditoria. Guests and participants of the event spoke about the importance of the establishing of the professional NGO and expresses readiness for support and close cooperation. The public presentation was attended by representatives of governmental and non-governmental organization working in the field of civics education. In the end of the event, memorandum of cooperation between the Civics Teachers’ Forum and eleven ACETT partner NGOs was signed.
