GE CALLS-funded Vocational Courses Start in Terovani | ge calls | 26 Feb 2015


GE CALLS funded another project in the framework of Community Initiatives Grants Program. New Generation for Better Future is a vocational education project working in IDP settlement of Tserovani.

With support of local government of Tserovani, which is a dense settlement built after 2008 war with Russia and populated by IDPs from South Ossetia, the project group arranged three vocational courses

Group from Republic of Georgia Visits Albany | ge play | 26 Feb 2015


On Thursday February 26, and Friday February 27, 2015, a group of nine professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including ministry, police officials, education administrators and the Basketball Federation of Georgia Executives, were in Albany. The Republic of Georgia group was in Albany to be introduced to the integration of police into athletic organizations. They also looked at youth sports and police coaching initiatives here in order to develop similar initiatives in Georgia.

Agents of Democracy – GE CALLS-funded project in Batumi aims at preventing juvenile crime via raising children’s awareness on civic responsibilities, democratic values, involving them into civic activities.
The Democracy Agents School was founded in the framework of the project, where 25 students from 5 Batumi schools will receive theoretical knowledge about democracy, human rights, gender equality etc.

Training about Reproductive Health and Gender Equality was held for students from MT partner schools in Shida Kartli region. The goal of the training was to increase boys’ awareness about gender equality. On February 8, students from MT project’s partner schools in Shida Kartli region took part in training on advocacy.Students learned how to plan and conduct advocacy campaign and also received information about the successful precedents of advocacy efforts carried out by their peers in school-based civics clubs. Such efforts brought significant benefits to local communities.
