Training on advocacy for youth in Gori

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 20 Feb 2015

On February 8, students from MT project’s partner schools in Shida Kartli region took part in training on advocacy.

Students learned how to plan and conduct advocacy campaign and also received information about the successful precedents of advocacy efforts carried out by their peers in school-based civics clubs. Such efforts brought significant benefits to local communities.

During the training, students engaged in practical exercises, which they found the most helpful and enjoyable. Participants think that the knowledge, obtained at the training will be very helpful in the process of planning and implementing their future advocacy campaigns.

"Such training helps students to engage in civics activities and they feel their own responsibility in resolving community problems. Gori Municipality will support initiatives and projects of students ", - said Mr. Shalva Tlashadze, representative of Gori municipality, who also attended the training.

The training was organized in the framework of USAID-funded MT project, which is implemented by PH International.
