On March 6-8, Civics Teachers’ Forum (CTF) organized training of trainers (ToT) on “Critical Friends’ Groups” at the Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC). Regional Coordinators of the Civics Education Teachers’ Forum (CETF) from all 11 regions of Georgia took part in the training.
The purpose of the internship is to help university graduates attain more practice teaching at public schools in Georgia. Mari has chosen to do her six-month internship at Tbilisi Public School # 26 with Natia Gadelia, the teacher who she was paired with during the ELCE-II program classroom observations. According to Mari her experience with ELCE-II has been invaluable and helped her tremendously in her attempts to get the internship.
Starting from February 2015, the PH Armenia staff have been visiting all seven project sites to monitor the small grants implementation. The grantees are actively collaborating with the PH International by providing their schedule of activities and major events. PH International, in its turn, besides making monitoring visits, provides them ongoing technical assistance to ensure smooth implementation of the projects.

On March 3, U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland joined students, teachers, the Mayor, Governor and City Council Chairperson in Gori to present awards to student winners of Essay Contest “Woman – An Active Citizen”.
On February 26, online conference for civics clubs students was held at Tbilisi Multimedia Education Center. Monika Gorzelanska, USAID Program Officer and Shamenna Gall, USAID Agriculture Officer were guest speakers of the conference and shared with students their own experience of volunteerism and civic participation in the US and in Poland.
Twenty pre-service and 20 in-service teachers came to watch three of their colleagues give a formal 45 minute demonstration lesson based on the ELCE II curriculum that they had previously taught in their classrooms. Approximately 10 parents of the 2nd grade pupils from School #6 brought their children and stayed to watch the classroom demonstration. Guliko Janova, Department Chairperson of English Language at the Samtskhe-Javakheti University, attended the lesson. All three lessons were videotaped so they could be used in the Year 2 training session of the program
