The purpose of the internship is to help university graduates attain more practice teaching at public schools in Georgia. Mari has chosen to do her six-month internship at Tbilisi Public School # 26 with Natia Gadelia, the teacher who she was paired with during the ELCE-II program classroom observations. According to Mari her experience with ELCE-II has been invaluable and helped her tremendously in her attempts to get the internship.

“ELCE-II is probably the most long-term and consistent program I have ever come across or even heard of”, admitted Mari in her talk with the ELCE-II manager. “If not this program and especially its classroom observation component, I would not be able to gain such an insight into the school life and real classroom teaching and would not even apply for the internship. ELCE-II has been an intense and rewarding experience and an excellent motivator for further professional development” she added.
