Akhaltsikhe Youth Legal Club against Bullying | 10 Mar 2014


On February 28, Legal Club under Akhaltsikhe Youth Center held an event named Bullying – Ordinary Teasing or Standard Felony.

Members of Telavi Media-Center Produced First Short Video-Film | 12 Feb 2014


GE-CALLS-funded project For Healthy Future works actively in Telavi, Kakheti Region.
In the framework of the project a media-lab was founded and equipped, so that the project participants can learn basics of video shooting, editing, directing and script-writing and practice acquired knowledge.
Project envisages production of 5 short video-films made by project participants on various subjects.

Social Justice and Discipline at school | 5 Feb 2014


After the successful start of Legal Culture lessons in 20 schools of 4 Georgian regions, on January 31, GE CALLS invited the school principles for the training in “Social Justice and Discipline at School”

The goal of the training was to provide recommendations that will assist the schools and their disciplinary boards in the process of discussions or decision making over different disciplinary cases.

Members of Khashuri Youth Club Visit Police Academy | 30 Jan 2014


Members of the youth club founded in the framework of GE CALLS Community Initiatives Component visited MIA Police Academy.
The visit was organized in consideration of high interest from students.
The students visited teaching rooms, shooting ranges, gyms. They were hosted by Pridon Diasamidze, Deputy Rector of the Academy.

Khashuri Youth Club Ready for Work | 12 Dec 2013


In the framework of GE CALLS Community Initiatives, a new project named Together for Safe Future of Youth started in Khashuri. The project is implemented by Civic Engagement Development Center Co-Participatory.
The project staff made presentations at 5 partner schools in Khashuri. 30 participants of the project were selected to form a youth club. Selection was made based on the application forms filled in by interested students

Schools involved in GE Calls program will start “Legal Culture” lessons in 9th grade starting from 2014 | 9 Dec 2013


On December 6-9, special training were organized for the civic education teachers and local police officers involved in GE Calls program, in order to prepare them for delivering 9th grade Legal culture lessons in the respective schools.

During the first part of the workshop the trainers and participants discussed important aspects of juvenile psychological; the second part was dedicated to the issues of legal culture and specifics of juvenile justice. Participants also received step-by- step recommendations on techniques of team-teaching and about modern teaching methods.

First Trainings at Youth Legal Club in Akhaltsikhe | 7 Dec 2013


First trainings were held for members of Youth Legal Club in by Samtskhe-Javakheti Democrat Women Association in Akhaltsikhe. The Club was formed in the framework of the GE CALLS-funded project Law Protects You.
The topic of the training was domestic violence. 20 members of the Club plan activities based on information acquired during the training.

Supreme Court of Georgia hosted the GE CALLS students from Tbilisi | 4 Dec 2013


On December 4, the Supreme Court of Georgia hosted the GECALLS students from Tbilisi Public School №55. The students were accompanied by the civic Education Teacher and Law Enforcement Officer of the above mentioned school.

A Supreme Court representative acted as a guide for the guests and introduced them guests the history of the building as well as the high ranking officials that have served there. The students visited nearly all the important chambers of the Supreme Court and tried the seats of judges and other officials. The students also visit the newly opened Museum of Justice.

9th graders visit MIA Police Academy | 29 Nov 2013


On November 29, GE CALLS 2013 within the framework of GE Calls project, ninth grade students of 64th public school with teacher and district police officer visited the academy of MIA. At the academy they attended the presentation “education in Academy” where they learned about the process and stages of becoming a police officer. Students also visited classrooms, gyms, shooting range and mock court room and mock customs. The school was personally greeted by the rector of an academy.
