Young Leaders visit the U.S. to Learn about Youth Leadership | uk youlead | 28 Aug 2014


From August 2-16th, PH International hosted 10 young leaders from the United Kingdom as part of the U.K. YoungLeaders exchange program funded by the U.S. Embassy London Public Affairs Office in England. During the two-week exchange participants visited organizations and interacted with their American peers in Vermont, Boston, and Washington, DC.

Start-up of GE Calls 2014 | ge calls | 7 Aug 2014

2014 Summer Camp for Armenian Students of Access Program | access am | 4 Aug 2014

July, 2014, was a month of highlights and intensive learning for 54 Armenian students enrolled in the English Access Microscholarship Program. Throughout July 22-25, 54 high students and their teachers from 3 regional towns of Armenia, Nor Hachn, Dilijan and Chambarak, the three program sites, got together with the Program Manager and the support facilitators in a central camp in Aghveran, a regional resort complex, to participate in intensive English language summer camps organized within the two-year program. Access GE Summer Camps Conclude the Program in Four Regions of the Country | access ge | 15 Jul 2014


In the last week of June and the first week of July 2014, English Access Microschoalrship Program hosted yet another rotation of English Language Summer Day Camps for Access Program students in all the 10 regions of program implementation throughout Georgia. 258 students participated in the Summer Camps. While the Summer Camp activities in various locations were centered round similar Civic Education concepts, they also varied depending on the interests, needs and language competences of the Access Program students in different regions.

AM CALLS Community Grants component successfully completed | am calls | 11 Jul 2014


All eleven NGOs and community based organizations from Hrazdan, Dilijan, Ijevan, Goris, Kapan, Metsamor, Ejmiatsin, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar and Yerevan communities, which are recipients of AM CALLS program's Community Grants component, have successfully completed the implementation of their projects.

In July 2014, ELCE/ICTE Program alumni teachers registered an NGO – “Changes without Borders” (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Changes-Without-Borders/300663930121798?fref=ts)
The organization’s mission is to support the students and teachers in their endeavors for personal and professional development. In September 2014, PH International partnered with “Changes without Borders” for the implementation of the English Access Microscholarship Program in Adjara. The organization has applied for various grants and initiatives in the field of education and has great ideas and plans for involving local administration and raising teachers’ motivation for professional development.

Final Conference - “School, Police and Community Cooperation for Crime Prevention” | ge calls | 3 Jul 2014


On June 24, in Radisson Blue Iveria Hotel, GE Calls held a final conference for the pilot year - “School, Police and Community Cooperation for Crime Prevention”.

The conference was attended by partner ministries and donor organizations. Among the guests were participant schools, school principals, police officers, experts, GE Calls grantees and other important stakeholders.

Opening speeches were made by the deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Mrs. Lia Gigauri, Head of INL-Mr. Aaron Fishman and by the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Ekaterine Machvariani. They underlined the importance and role of GE Calls program in juvenile crime prevention.

On May 29, 2014 young winners of ACETT’s blog contest from different regions of Georgia were awarded in Tbilisi. Students were awarded for the best blogs in the following nominations: Young Volunteer, Young Ombudsman, Environmental Defender, Citizen Journalist, Healthy lifestyle advocate, Young Educator and the Best School Civics Club Blog.
