Armenia | Armenia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization | 11 Jul 2014

All eleven NGOs and community based organizations from Hrazdan, Dilijan, Ijevan, Goris, Kapan, Metsamor, Ejmiatsin, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar and Yerevan communities, which are recipients of AM CALLS program's Community Grants component, have successfully completed the implementation of their projects. The projects mainly addressing issues connected with principles of restorative justice, community policing, prevention, and juveniles’ protection from abuse, celebrated a nice diversity of formats, scope of outreach, target groups and deliverables. A total of 1601 adults and 1408 youth have participated in 11 projects targeting youth from vulnerable groups, refugees and children with disabilities. Two sociological surveys were conducted within the scope of the Community Grants component; one of them aimed at revealing cases of violence against youth in three Syunik regions was conducted by Goris “Partnership and Teaching” NGO, and the second, which explored problems faced by Gyumri youth living in difficult conditions was conducted by “New Generation”, an NGO in Gyumri. The reports of both surveys are available in Armenian language and were shared among the project stakeholders and other interested parties. Out of these 11, four projects, which were designed based on the results of community facilitated dialogues and were supported by Advisory Groups comprised of community members, were conducted in Vanadzor, Gyumri, Metsamor and Ejmiatsin communities. On June 19, 2014, the AM CALLS staff organized a final meeting with all the grantees. The key staff from all eleven grantee organizations were invited to deliver presentations sharing their best practices and successes, the challenges and solutions recorded throughout the project implementation cycle. This was a good opportunity for the grantees to share with each othertheir lessons learned and form an effective cross-regional community of practice.
