SCOPE-supported Project Participants from Pankisi Gorge Win First Prize at Earth-Day Hackathon | 23 Apr 2018


A team of three students from Pankisi Gorge, involved in SCOPE-supported project, won the first prize in Earth day Hackathon organized by SDSU students and US Embassy in Tbilisi.

9th graders and police officers team up to organize fun meetings for elementary school kids | 26 Mar 2018


Police officers and two of their 9th graders, from SCOPE program schools in Batumi, participated in intensive trainings in non-formal education to acquire a special module.  The module is designed for elementary school kids and is based on dynamic afterschool activities and games, linked to important values, such as general safety concepts, children’s rights and cyber security.

After the training, the meetings will be arranged for elementary school students by the team of the police officer and two 9th graders, as a result, the 9th graders and police officers get a chance to plan, work and cooperate for the good of their school and community.

SCOPE Community Awareness Raising Projects Up and Working | 11 Jan 2018


By the end of 2017, all five projects funded in the framework of Raisin Community Awareness component of SCOPE program are underway. Projects durations vary from 6 to 8 months. Special attention is paid to gender balance in groups.

The representatives of the schools from Mtskheta, Gori, Pankisi and Tbilisi took great interest in the initiatives of SCOPE school programs for the goal of preventing juvenile delinquency, for supporting the community activities of the police and for offering students a window into certain roles and career paths.

Agreements Signed to Implement Community Awareness Activities in Regions | 21 Nov 2017


On November 6, Schools, Community and Police Engagement – Georgia (SCOPE) held a cluster meeting for its Raising Community Awareness component participants. PH International provides sub grants to five local NGOs to implement the final component of SCOPE.

Marvel Comic Book Artist and Writer Met Youth in Youth Engagment Center in Borjomi | 20 Oct 2017


On October 19, 2017 David Mack, a well-known Marvel comic book artist and writer, visited Youth Engagement Center in Borjomi, supported by SCOPE program as part of the community outreach and support component. David Mack presented his work, made live demonstration of comics drawing and delivered a drawing workshop for more than 50 local youth aged 12-17 in Borjomi.
