KODU GAME LAB for school students | 4 Oct 2017

A presentation of Kodu Game Lab for students of the 7th grade of secondary school №11 of Tokmak city was held on October 10. The trainer taught the students how to create KODU GAME LAB computer games and tools, and showed how they work. The students forgot about the ring for the class break and dreamed about creating their own characters. Everyone without exception was struck by how fast on bright landscapes, characters of the game, interesting visual effects and even sound support can be created at the computer. Guys and girls have plunged into the fantastic world of adventure, which previously seemed inaccessible to ordinary schoolchildren. The children were so enthralled with the theme of the event that they expressed their wish to study programming in the future in more detail.

Kodu training for students of Kyiv Higher Professional School of Technology and Clothing Design | 23 Sep 2017

Within the framework of the IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark, a training was held on the basis of the Kyiv Higher Professional School of Technology and Clothing Design on the topic "Introduction to the Kodu Programming Visual Environment". The event was conducted by a trainer of the IDEA Training Center of NGO ‘Volunteer’. During the class, students got acquainted with the new platform for programming, the process and the main stages of working in it, and created their characters in the game space."

Training for children with special needs | 14 Sep 2017


On September 14, 2017, a trainer of the IDEA Center of NGO ‘Chayka’ (Gull) again visited Klevan specialized boarding school for children. The trainer of the IDEA Rivne Educational Center Oksana Salivonchyk, together with the Rivne District Center for Social Services for the Children and Youth Family, again held a training session for students of this educational institution. During the training, IDEA trainer introduced the participants to one of the most popular professions, a programmer. Students were able to try themselves as a programmer by performing simple tasks. It was especially useful for children to work as a single team. While forming simple logistical blocks children developed logical thinking and imagination. Teamwork helped children understand that it's easy to program !!! Teachers of the institution were also involved in the process, and they were very surprised how easy the children were able to cope with the difficult tasks. The event was conducted through the IDEA project with the support of Microsoft YouthSpark.

In Prymorsk, children created the virtual worlds in Kodu | 31 Aug 2017


In Prymorsk city library, a training for children on programming in Kodu was held on August 27, 2017. By their activity, children created an incredible atmosphere during the activity. They were very attentive to what the trainer tough them. During the training, children worked in teams that were given a task to create their own virtual worlds. As the mother of one participant noted, "if my daughter likes it, then the training is successful." After the classes, the children rushed home to continue the on-handed case on their own computers.

Microsoft Visual Basic course | 28 Jul 2017

It is used for the component way of creating programs that run almost all versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Hour of code for children living at a family-type children home in Rivne Oblast | 20 Jul 2017


The trainer of the IDEA Rivne Training Center of NGO “Chaika” (Gull), together with specialists of the Center of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth, visited a family-type children home on July 20, where more than 15 underage children are raised. During the visit, representatives of the social center communicated with the caregivers about the peculiarities of preparing children for independent living and the development of children's creative and intellectual abilities. At this time, the IDEA coach held a training for the young people on the selection of the future occupation, with particular emphasis on the IT sector. Also, by using special cards, the trainer carried out a class on the topic "Hour of Code without computers". Children willingly accomplished simple tasks and plunged into the world of programming. Some children got interested in this development platform and have already tried to use it online.

Training on the use of the WordPress content management system | 14 Jul 2017

For youth of Chernihivka town, a training session on the use of the WordPress content management system was held at the Chernihivka Rayon (district) library. During the training, the trainer at the IDEA Training Center told about all the steps needed to create a web-site. The subject of the event was very relevant to the participants, so they asked many questions. The participants were informed about the importance of reading the domain name of the web-page, as well as the possibilities of choosing and changing a design of a site, and points to be taken into account when publishing information. The attendees at the training were struck by the opportunities that the WordPress content management system opens, since even beginners can work with it. The trainer also told about a lot of templates that help make the creation of a web-site even easier.

IT services and applications for time planning at IDP HUB in Tokmak, with IDEA Project assistance. | 30 Jun 2017

The world has been dramatically accelerating recently. Most people simply can not cope with the infiltration of information, tasks, ideas, and opportunities that dump them. Therefore, the ability to effectively manage time become of utmost importance. It is important to be able to distribute time so that, in the first place, the really important things that are moving us forward, and then all the others, are actually fulfilled.
Services and applications are now actively beginning to appear, which allows one to organize lists, plan a day, and control the execution of tasks. The trainer told about the benefits of such programs, the main tools for working with them, the ability to synchronize these applications between the PC and the smartphone at the IDP HUB TOKMAK resource center in Tokmak, and answered all the questions of those present.

Hour of Code - training of trainers in Kropyvnytsky | 22 Jun 2017

Within the framework of the regional librarians' seminar held by the Kirovohrad Oblast Library for Youth, four training workshops were held at the IDEA Center of the Public Organization "TIMO" Open Doors ". In these workshops, librarians of the region learned how to create algorithms using the code.org curriculum and get acquainted with the materials that can help them in conducting the Hour of Code in December this year.

Training-contest "Hour of Code" at the Children's Health Camp "Svitanok" (Daybreak) | 20 Jun 2017


In Volyn Oblast, in the summer, children not only rest, but also use their time for more learning. Exactly so, on June 20, 207, at the Children's Health Camp "Svitanok" (Daybreak), the Coordinator of the IDEA Training Center, Volyn Perspectives, hosted the "Hour of Code" game-competition. Children learned the beginnings of programming during an interesting team game, without using any equipment. Formation of algorithms in the form of a game contributed to the development of coding skills for young programmers. These activities became possible thanks to the IDEA P Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark.
