05.02.2016 | mt | Students Advocate for Road Safety
Students submitted a letter to Governor of the Samtredia Municipality requesting the support to solve the problem of road signs’ absence. Local Government, together with the support of Municipality’s Road Department helped to resolve a problem. A speed bump and a road sign “Children” were installed in front of the school. This improved road safety for students, teachers and community members.

28.01.2016 | mt | Khopuri Students Advocate for Rehabilitation of Local Infrastructure
Within the mini-grant of MT program students conducted a cleaning action in the territory around the spring. They arranged the meeting with the Governor of the village Mr. Amiran Jamburidze and discussed the problem with him. Mr. Jamburidze promised to support students’ initiative and to arrange a banner at the place with information about mineral water and its treatment properties.

Yulia Ishchuk (28 years), a NGO leader, shares her impressions about assistance she received from the IDEA Center in Lutsk to improve the capacity of their organization: "I learned about the work of the IDEA Training Center affiliated with NGO ‘Volynski Perspectyvy’ ((Volyn’s Perspectives) recently, during a training for women, members of civil organization of the Volyn Oblast (region). After the training, I asked the coordinator of the IDEA Training Center Natalia Lytvyna for advice on the organization of informational support for our NGO in the Internet. On her advice, for two weeks I took a full training and the IDEA Center and learned how to properly use Facebook social network. New knowledge that I received helped to increase the institutional capacity of our organization. Now more people can learn about the activities of our organization and get the assistance we provide. Now I plan to constantly refer to the IDEA Training Center for support and advice. Thank IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark for this great and free opportunity! "

11.12.2015 | other | Partnership between Civics Club and Tbilisi City Hall for a Safer Traffic
To address a road safety problem in front of the school, civics club member students prepared a project “Safe Road for Pe-destrians” and received small grant funding from MT. The project aimed to increase public awareness about road safe-ty. As part of the project, Civics Club members approached Tbilisi City Hall’s Transport Office with a letter requesting to renew pedestrian crossings near their school. Shortly, on No-vember 8, 2015, Transport Office responded with an action and pedestrian crossings were renewed not only near the school area, but also in all other places of Didi Digomi munic-ipality, where the crosswalks were poorly marked.

19.11.2015 | mt | Civics Students Generate Income to Support Family House
On October 23, 2015 civic clubs and Radisson Blu Hotel in Batumi hosted charity concert, which featured the sale of children’s paintings, youth folk dance and singing bands and other local popular singers and actors. Concert was covered by “Adjara” TV and Georgian Public Broadcaster in its program “Realuri Sivrce” (Real Space). More than 200 guests, gov-ernmental officials, representatives of NGOs, business sector and media, students, teachers and community members attended the concert. Local government representatives promised that they will take steps for the so-lution of this problem and will pay particular attention to the needs of the family-type house and its beneficiaries. In addition, 1,000 GEL was raised from public during the concert for rehabilitation works of the house.
