Russia | English Access Microscholarship Program | 11 Oct 2011

Karl Purnell, a representative of Teach the World Online (TWOL) NGO, visited two Access sites, Samara and Elista on September 22-October 1, 2011, and worked with teachers and students there to set up a program of Skype sessions to be led by American undergraduate students in October-December and with a focus on American culture and language. Karl brought two iMac computers, webcams and microphones as a donation to Russia Access program. As a result of the visit, the equipment was tested and the schedule and topics of sessions was developed based on the students’ language proficiency, age, and interests. In addition to this, he also conducted workshops and Q and A sessions for Access students and teachers.
