SROs and teachers are getting ready to deliver “Legal Culture Basics” to their 7th graders.

7th grade teachers and the SROs of the participant schools from Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi and Tbilisi participated in the four-day training to sharpen their skills and knowledge for effective delivery of the lessons -  ”Basics of Legal Culture”. 

Education experts –Manana Jincharadze and Giorgi Gakheladze introduced the participants to the Legal Culture curriculum, described the co-teaching tactics between the SROs and teachers and their roles in creation of legal culture and safety in school.

Police discussed the legislative aspects, importance of the Legal Culture curriculum at schools and conflict resolution methods. She also shared their experience working with schools gave them practical recommendations concerning the school and police cooperation.

Psychologists - Maia Tsiramua and Tinatin Mezvrishvili, made in-depth analysis together with the participants on the important topics of: bullying, tactics for teachers to handle the problematic student, correct communication and wording, identification of a victim, understanding the emotions, age specifics and others.

The training was full of activities, case studies, brain storming, group works, presentations, videos presentations and active discussions. Upon their return to schools all of the participants’ first priority was to share the information to their colleagues and review their previous work with them.

After the training the participant schools will receive the textbooks for their students and their fellow teachers in order to start delivering the legal culture lessons.
