All-Russia Children’s Center “Orlyonok” Hosts Special ACCESS Camp

The Solnechniy camp of the All-Russia Children’s Center “Orlyonok”, taking place October 10-30, 2013, is bringing together 140 participants of the ACCESS program from 14 cities across Russia. ACCESS is administered by PH International and funded by the English language office of the US Embassy in Moscow that takes place in 22 cities of Russia.

This October, children are participating in a special camp called “Dialog of Cultures”. This is the sixth ACCESS camp session in Orlyonok, but this session is the first time so many children different cities of have came together for a joint program.

At camp, ACCESS students have daily English classes and sessions led by 11 teachers and counselors who are alumni of U.S. exchange programs. Students are also involved in recreational activities, like contests, quizzes, parties and dance classes. In this camp, children were also given an opportunity to take part in five days of classes given by the English language fellow in Russia, Erik Lundell.

During their three weeks in Orlyonok, ACCESS students will develop and begin joint projects - including projects with students from different cities.
