Training for the Members of Disciplinary Committees of Seven GLSP schools

Georgia | Georgian Legal Socialization Project | 20 Dec 2011

On December 7-9, 2011 GLSP staff organized a three-day training workshop for the school-based Disciplinary Committees. The workshop was attended by the representatives of seven Disciplinary Committees from Tbilisi and Rustavi public schools and school wardens working in the selected schools. GLSP experts Giorgi Gakheladze, Lia Giagauri and GLSP program manager served as trainers and facilitators of the workshop.
The training provided the Disciplinary Committee members with the structure and content of the Disciplinary Committee Guidelines.
The first two days of the training were dedicated to theoretical issues. In order to make the training more effective, the theoretical sessions were followed by practical exercises.
The third day of the training was dedicated to brainstorming, small group work, and role plays. During the follow up sessions, training participants expressed their interest in new methods and underlined that information recieved during the training is essential in solving disciplinary problems not only in schools but in society general.
GLSP plans to print the Disciplinary Commitee Guidelines and distribute the document among schools involved in the Georgia Legal Socialization Program.
