Working Together for a Healthy Lifestyle

Georgia | Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training (ACETT) program for Georgia | 2 May 2014

Students from Georgian and Azeri sector schools in Dmanisi decided to improve the infrastructure of the local sports space, namely, to renovate changing rooms. This idea was discussed by Georgian and ethnic minority students during ACETT’s Civics Integration Camp in Kvemo Kartli. To support this initiative, local administration provided materials for roofing of the building. Rehabilitation works were conducted by the local private construction company free of charge. Students took part in cleaning and some of the construction works. Improved infrastructure will help to promote healthy lifestyle among youth. The first football matches were already held among Georgian and ethnic minority youth in Dmanisi.
