Georgia | Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training (ACETT) program for Georgia | 8 Apr 2014

School-based civics clubs are now taking part in a new project of the Georgian National Film Center (GNFC) titled “Film at School”. The project aims to promote tolerance and humanistic ideas among students through cinematography. Approximately 40 school based civics clubs from Imereti, Mtskheta-Mtaineti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli and Adjara regions will host film screenings and follow-up discussions facilitated by film critics. On March 19, 2014 the first film screening was held in Rustavi. The film of French producer François Truffaut “The 400 Blows” describing the history and problems of a teenager boy was shown. Students were impressed by the film. Film screenings will continue throughout the semester in different regions of Georgia.
