ACETT Teachers Evaluate Training Outcomes

Georgia | Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training (ACETT) program for Georgia | 25 Oct 2012

On October 20th, a follow-up meeting was held in Telavi with civics teachers trained within the framework of Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program, which is implemented by PH International in Georgia and funded by USAID. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate training outcomes and identify any additional needs of civics teachers. In giving her feedback and opinions on the the outcomes and impact of the training provided under ACETT, civics teacher Nana Nikolashvili from the village of Velistsikhe stated: “This training had a huge impact on me. I started to believe in myself; I realized that no goal is unachievable; I have understood why we shall follow national curriculum in teaching; I have learned how to evaluate students. We develop projects and carry out different activities in school. My students take part in different competitions, collaborate with NGOs, have received funding for their activities…. There is an increased interest towards civic education. Regardless of their busy schedule, students willingly stay after classes to take part in civics club meetings and are proud of their success. I think that training helped to give foundation for this success”.
