Awards to Winners of the ACETT Blog Competition

Many ACETT students have started using blogs as a means for greater civic engagement. On December 9, 2011, at the Tbilisi Hotel “Vere Palace”, winners of the ACETT competition for the best student blog on civic education competition were awarded prizes and recognition for their work. Honorary members of the jury awarded five students with first place certificates and prizes in five categories: Youth Volunteer, Youth Ombudsman, Nature Defender, Citizen Journalist, and Advocacy of Healthy Lifestyle. Winners of the second and third places will get the certificates. The competition was announced in May 2011and 124 students participated in it. ACETT is the USAID funded Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program in Georgia, promoting better civics education through teacher training and encouraging students to become active in their communities.
