Students of Tbilisi public school # 213 decided to solve the road safety issues. The school is located in the village of Tabakhmela but is a territorial unit of city Tbilisi.
The survey conducted by students showed that road signs are not properly located in the village and road safety are not protected. To address this issue, students planned different activities.
Civics Club Members of Village Tezeri Public School conducted a survey in the village to identify community attitudes regarding the violence against women.
"Despite numerous informational campaigns, the population still needs more information about the topic, as women still become victims of various forms of violence. This was confirmed by the survey conducted by students. For the prevention of violence against women in the future, it is necessary to provide students with thorough information and support their participation in the violence prevention campaigns” - said Nona Chadashvili, civics teacher after the meeting, at which students shared the results of the survey.
School-based civics club students of village Gombori public school conducted survey to identify the level of interest of reading among the peers. They found out that many students don’t read books.
Civics Club members of the village Rike public school in Zugdidi municipality made efforts to improve road safety.
The pedestrian street crossing in front of the school needed a renewal. The students received permission from the school administration, local government and Zugdidi City Council to paint the pedestrian street crossing.
On October 19, the SRO in cooperation with the school administration initiated a sport tournament between teams of 10th graders, with five girls and five boys in each team.
On October 2, 2018, a total of 40 students and 6 educators of Alaverdy #5 and #8 schools, accompanied by their SRO and PHI staff visited the SMART Center to participate in Media Literacy and Internet Safety training conducted by professional trainers of this center.
On different dates from October 25 to November 5 students and educators of Vardenis, Martuni, Dzoragyugh high schools had a chance to travel to Yerevan and meet the staff of RA Ombudsman's office.
On November 13, RA Police Academy hosted students of Yeghvard High School. The students visited the Academy to get acquainted with this institution and its programs.
On October 18, 2018 thirty students, two educators and two parents from Tchambarak high school accompanied by the SRO and the PHI staff visited Media Initiative Center to participate in Media Literacy and Internet Safety training organized by the professional staff of the Center.
Throughout October-November 2018, within the “Legal Education and Active Participation” program, with the support of PH International and in cooperation with schools’ administrations the SROs, assigned to RA high schools initiated and facilitated number of events for students.
