Armenian CJCs on Professional Development Visit in Georgia | zang | 18 Jun 2012


The close and intensive cooperation between Georgian Legal Socialization Program (GLSP) and ZANG Armenian Legal Socialization Program (ALSP) strengthens and continues on daily bases.
Throughout June 6-8, 2012 a team of Armenian specialists from ZANG Armenian Legal Socialization Program, including the program staff and 1 representative from 10 CJCs (Community Justice Center) currently functioning in Armenia visited their counterparts working within the Legal Socialization Program in Georgia. The cross-country program aimed at introducing the Armenian group with the Diversion and Mediation state program implemented in Georgia for juvenile offenders. The program included meetings with different professionals from Georgia who were all ready and eager to share their experiences, methods and mechanisms employed, the successes and lessons learnt.

Pilot Program Assessed During Sum Up Meeting | glsp | 11 Jun 2012

On June 5, 2012 GLSP hosted a sum-up meeting for pilot program of teaching legal culture among 7th-grade students. The meeting was attended by teachers and police officers conducting the mentioned studies in 10 schools in Tbilisi and Rustavi, school principals, GLSP representatives, Lia Gigauri , program expert and Maka Peradze, the representative of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

Rachel Evarts Facilitates 4th of July Celebration for Access Program Students in Ozurgeti | access ge | 7 Jun 2012


On June 7, Ozgurgeti Access Program held an enrichment activity about the 4th of July celebration, which was facilitated by Rachel Evarts, Peace Corps Volunteer. During the session, students watched a short video on American Revolution. To determine the level of comprehension among students, facilitator asked various questions on the topics related to the video. Students were encouraged to share their thoughts about the importance and cultural significance of the Independence Day in both the United States and Georgia.

On May 17, 2012, the PH International within the ZANG Armenia Legal Socialization Program (ALSP) partnering with RA Police and UNICEF initiated the opening of the 10th Community Justice Center in Ejmiatsin. Access Program Students get acquainted with American Poets | access ge | 31 May 2012

On May 31, Ozurgeti Access Program organized an enrichment activity dedicated to American poetry. Rachael Evart, Peace Corps Volunteer based in Guria Youth Resource Center (Access Program partner NGO) led a session introducing three American poets: Maya Angelou, Emily Dickinson, and Shel Silverstein. After getting acquainted with the poets’ short biographies, Access students were given an opportunity to read some of the best poems by the given authors and discuss the messages the poets wanted to convey through their work.

Civics club students in Aspinza recently cooperated with the local municipality to improve waste removal systems and clean green spaces in the town. The Rustavi Public School students undertook the project through a mini-grant provided by the ACETT program.

Students Succeed in Lobbying Local Government for Cinema Club | acett | 2 May 2012


During a recent youth conference organized through the PH-administered ACETT program, young activists successfully galvanized support for the establishment of a cinematic club. The event was hosted by the Kutaisi Education Development and Employment Center, a partner NGO of ACETT.
