Language and Leadership Education for Advanced Pathways for Youth (LEAP) (2025-Present)
Language and Leadership Education for Advanced Pathways for Youth (LEAP) program will provide 150 Armenian youth and young adults aged 16 – 35, at least 70% of whom are displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh (NK) and now living in and around Yerevan, with English language instruction and capacity-building training to create new opportunities for employment and academic growth, increase their understanding of U.S. society and culture, and help them to better integrate into their local communities.
The goalof the LEAP program is to incorporate Armenian youth and young adults aged 16 to 35, including at least 70% from Nagorno-Karabakh, into the community of English language learners and diversify their career and employability skills so they can aspire to more opportunities in education and employment. The program also aims to promote an understanding of U.S. culture and democratic values resulting in more engaged, competent, and responsible citizens of Armenia and the world.
The program consists of two objectives and components, the joint impact of which will improve participants’ English language and social skills, help them to form new connections, teach them about available cultural and educational exchange programs, assist them in becoming more informed and more competitive in today’s demanding academic and labor markets.
