Justice for Ukrainian Youth: Investigation and prosecution of Russia’s war crimes Against Ukrainian Children (2024-2026)

The Justice for Ukrainian Youth program strengthened Ukraine’s capacity to protect children affected by Russia’s war by supporting criminal justice professionals in the detection, investigation, and prosecution of war crimes committed against Ukrainian youth.

Implemented in partnership with the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine, the 24-month initiative combined specialized training, institutional collaboration, and community engagement to strengthen child protection, advance the rule of law, and build more resilient communities. The program also raised awareness of children’s rights and the legal consequences of war crimes while supporting long-term capacity within Ukraine’s justice sector.
