The focus of this program will be on sharing and learning about “infection prevention and control and blood safety issues in hospitals, clinics and medical settings”. As such, the overall objective of this three week program is to expose healthcare professionals from the Kyrgyz Republic to the best methodologies and options available regarding blood safety, infection control and waste management issues in the U.S.
-On April 15 the seminar "Job search. Internet opportunities." was conducted by the trainers of Konotop IDEA FRESH Center. This event had been planned according wishes of UP Courses participants, the majority of which are unemployed.
Only a month ago, PH International was granted funding from the US Department of State/Bureau of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement to continue the implementation of the ZANG Armenia Legal Socialization project for the next four years. On March 31, PH staff brought together the teams of the six Community Justice Centers of the ZANG program to celebrate the occasion and discuss the program’s future work plan. The meeting began with brief updates from each CJC. The major achievement reported was the fact that the centers continued their reparative processes with juveniles uninterrupted for one month while the DOS grant was being awarded. As of March 2009, overall 220 cases have been heard at ZANG CJCs, with successful juvenile rehabilitation records in the majority of cases.
On February 20, in the building of Konotop City Employment Center, the trainers of the IDEA Center held the seminar "Job Search Resources" for the registered unemployed people. During the seminar 51 unemployed citizens had the opportunity to get familiar with different job search resources, Internet as well.
On February 18 in Konotop one more unique event was organized - official launch of the Educational Center of the IDEA (Information Dissemination and Equal Access) Project.
In the framework of "Month of Safer Internet" social campaign in Ukraine that was initiated by Microsoft Ukraine Company, on February 17 the training "Safety Online" was held in Cherkasy IDEA Center in the partnership with Cherkasy Oblast Youth Resource Center and Regional NGO Social Partnership Center. The event was prepared by Sergiy Slinko, volunteer-trainer of the IDEA Center and certified trainer of the "Children's Safety Online" Program in Cherkasy.
