Mission & Vision
Mission
PH International (registered under the legal name Project Harmony, Inc.) was founded in 1985 to promote cultural and educational exchanges between the United States and the former Soviet Union.
Today, PH empowers individuals and communities to connect, learn, and collaborate across cultures and borders. Through partnerships that advance innovation, opportunity, and mutual understanding, we strengthen communities and build lasting relationships that benefit both the United States and our international partners.
We achieve this through innovative programs for youth, professionals, and communities that combine in-person and virtual exchanges,
practical skills development, leadership training, and cross-sector partnerships to expand opportunity, strengthen local capacity, and prepare participants to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Our talented, multinational team brings deep regional expertise, trusted local relationships, and decades of experience designing and delivering high-quality international exchange and development programs.
Advancing Society, Connecting People
Since those first years of breaking down walls and building personal relationships through musical exchanges, PH has grown to have field offices embracing a wide variety of programs. Educational programs expanded in the early 1990s and today we work with schools throughout the U.S., Eurasia, the Balkans and the Caucasus.
As its network of U.S. and overseas partners grew, PH built professional development programs focused on building the capacity of citizens to support key institutions in their communities and professional specializations for increased opportunity, engagement and shared learning. As early as the late 1990s, PH realized that access to information is a key to breaking down the stereotypes and barriers that separate people, and began working on information technology programs, leading to more than 450 Internet access computer centers in universities, schools and libraries in Russia, Armenia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan.

Honor the Past, Invest in the Future

Our Values
PH International strives towards a world where individuals and communities work across boundaries to address challenges with solutions rooted in cultural understanding, inspired by a sense of shared responsibility, strengthened by individuals empowered with practical skills and knowledge, and sustained through open communication, exchange, and friendship.
A New Era: PH International
To reflect the growth of PH’s work, in 2008 Project Harmony took on a new name: PH International. PH expanded from its roots in the former Soviet Union to a global portfolio of programs that strengthen communities, develop leaders, and create opportunities through innovation, skills development, and sports.
