Civics students of Gomi public school in Khasuri Municipality established a Media Club at school, equipped with necessary equipment and suitable working environment. This became possible with the support of Momavlis Taoba’s mini-grants program.
Students of Chikaani public school in Kakheti region worked together with local municipality, school administration, teachers, and parents to renovate of the school yard. Students and teachers took part in in the cleaning and rehabilitation works. The Local administration supported students’ initiative and provided construction materials, benches and garbage bins. Local wine company - “Guguli” LTD provided equipment for the school gym.
Students of Momavlis Taoba project partner schools in Samtskhe-Javakheti region joined a cleaning action initiated by Akhaltsikhe municipality. The cleaning action was dedicated to World Cleaning Day.
“Support for Changes - 2015” was the name of a day camp organized on September 8, 2015 by students of MT program partner schools from Khulo municipality. More than 30 students gathered at Kholo public school #1 to discuss and identify community problems, find ways for their solution in cooperation with decision makers.
Ali Village Public School civics students initiated the renovation of civics club room and school yard. They have mobilized the peer students, teachers, parents and community members to take active part in the renovation processes, as well as school yard greening and cleaning actions. Local entrepreneur Mr. Ivane Nizadze supported the project and provided the materials for the renovation of the school yard. This action was implemented as part of the project -“Remember, you are an active citizen!”
School students of Tbilisi public school #127 closely collaborated with local municipality, school administration, teachers, and parents and as a result arranged a small park in the school yard. Students and teachers were actively involved in the cleaning and rehabilitation work of the existing territory, surrounding the school.
Batumi Gymnasium “21 Century” students conducted various activities to promote healthy life-style among the youth. As part of the initiative, students purchased sport uniforms, other sport equipment, arranged different sport competitions, contests aiming to raise the awareness about negative influence of smoking. Trainings on healthy life-style and film screening on the same topic were also conducted.
Rehabilitation of the Event Hall at Tbilisi public school #132 was initiated by civics students in the framework of the Momavlis Taoba mini-grant project. Parents, teachers and students are involved in project implementation, while school administration provides the needed support for rehabilitation works. Students will stage a performance at Akmeteli Theater in Tbilisi to get additional funds for the project.
Civics teacher of the school in Zestaphoni initiated renovation of a civics classroom at school, with support from MT mini-grant project. The initiative was also supported by school administration, private business, parents and community members.
From new academic year we will advocate the process of improving the infrastructure of the road leading to the monuments and also we want to rehabilitate old hall-style house and open theethnographic museum
Civics club students of village Choluri public school of Lentekhi municipality, launched a promotion campaign to protect historical monuments, situated in the village and are dated between VI-X centuries.
Students will be also preparing the video with detailed information about historical monuments of the village. The video will be disseminated through the social media to reach those people who wants to visit Svaneti and see old historical monuments.
