Village Skra public school students are leading the campaign to increase community members’ awareness about family violence.
Before the campaign, students conducted a survey and interviewed 100 villagers. Students were interested to know awareness among villagers about the violence prevention and human rights protection concerning the family violence. Having analyzed the results of the survey, students conducted various activities to increase community members’ knowledge about family violence. Informational-educational printing materials on violence issues were prepared, printed and disseminated at school and among community members.
Students, teachers and parents of Tbilisi public school # 127 gathered in order to arrange a small park by improving school yard and its existing infrastructure.
“Today we learned how to identify problems in the community and how to solve them. We also planned future joint activities” - said Diana Inasaridze, Muskhi public school civics club student.
Eight ethnic Azeri students of Kachagani and Takalo public schools of Marneuli municipality were participants of the internship component of MT project in Marneuli Public Service Hall. Internship lasted for four weeks. Students had an opportunity to learn about functions and services provided by Public Service Hall. They also were engaged in service delivery, in particular helping visitors to use services, provided by the public hall properly.
Tsikhisdziri public school, in the framework of MT project, received a mini-grant to support ethnic Azeri students’ integration into the society and to help them improve their Georgian language skills.
On July13, a Charity concert was held in Khulo Drama Theater. Concert was initiated by members of Khulo school-based civics club “Evrica” and aimed at supporting their schoolmate, who suffered from implications of burn injuries and is in need of further treatment and rehabilitation.
Civics students of Nichbisi public school initiated a mini-grant project –“Clean Village”, aimed at improving ecological situation in the village and increasing public awareness on environment protection issues.
On July 28, students of MT project partner schools in Kutaisi organized informational campaign dedicated to World Hepatitis Day.
The campaign focused on raising awareness of the different forms of hepatitis, in particular what hepatitis is and how it is transmitted; what are the risks and the various methods of prevention and treatment.
Students of Azeri school in the village of Karataklia, Bolnisi municipality organized the evening of Georgian poetry. The goal of this initiative was to promote learning of the state language among ethnic minorities.
Students of school “Mzekabani 2007” in Terjola, enriched school library to promote reading among the youth. Students started with the action -“One Book for school”- informing the community about the goal of the project.
