Kutaisi Celebrates World Hepatitis Day

Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 7 Aug 2015

On July 28, students of MT project partner schools in Kutaisi organized informational campaign dedicated to World Hepatitis Day.

The campaign focused on raising awareness of the different forms of hepatitis, in particular what hepatitis is and how it is transmitted; what are the risks and the various methods of prevention and treatment.

Students prepared information brochures and disseminated them in public places. They also called on the society to get involved in the campaign to defeat the problem.

“Despite the hot summer, we decided to organize information campaign on World Hepatitis Day. Well-informed society will greatly contribute to defeating the problem’’- said Tekla Jorjoliani, a member of civics club “Lampari”.

The action was organized in the framework of USAID-funded “Momavlis Taoba” project, which is implemented by PH International.
