On October 13-16, 2011 GLSP conducted 3-day training for law enforcement officers and teachers that enrolled in the program this year. Ten law enforcement officers, fifteen civic education teachers and two school principals from Gori and Samtredia participated in the training.

Access Program Students in Ozurgeti Get Acquainted with Famous American Inventions | access ge | 30 Sep 2011


An enrichment session organized on September 30 for the Access Program students from Ozurgeti was devoted to famous American inventions. The idea of the topic came from Rachael Evarts, Peace Corps Volunteer, who has been working with Guria Youth Resource Center (Access Program implementing NGO in the region of Guria) since July 2011. Consequently, she has planned and implemented the enrichment session in close cooperation with the Access Program Coordinator in Guria region.

On September 30, Access Program in Gori hosted three FLEX program alumni: Lika Okropiridze, Mariam Ghvamichava and Maka Mukhadze. The purpose of the enrichment activity was to increase the motivation of Access Program students to learn English in order to become participants of FLEX-like international exchange programs and return to their communities as the bearers and followers of western democratic values.

Akhaltsikhe Access Program Students Enjoy a Movie Day | access ge | 19 Sep 2011


On September 19, Access Program in Akhaltsikhe carried out the showing of a film called “Soul Surfer”. Before showing the movie, Access Program English Teacher made a brief presentation on leadership followed by a pre-watching activity during which the teacher discussed the title of the film with the students and provided them with the vocabulary and tips on what to pay attention to while watching the film.
