Youth Festival in Akhaltsikhe

On October 8, 2013 Youth Festival was organized in Akhaltsikhe. Youth Festival is an annual initiative promoting cooperation between the school students and local government. During the festival different activities were carried out by the students. Day started with the students’ chain organized in the central street of the city Akhaltsikhe and symbolizing cooperation among youth with decision makers. During the event, printed materials promoting active citizenship was distributed among the wider audience. In parallel to the student’s chain, conference took place where selected authors of the topics how to strengthen the civil society presented their views and recommendations. Video film about the importance of youth involvement in civil society was also presented. At the end of the day students organized flesh mob show. Participants of the festival were awarded by certificates and special prizes. The event was organized by “Akhaltikhe Youth House” in the framework of the ACETT program implemented by PH International and funded by USAID.
