On October 11, 2013 civic club students in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia celebrated International Day of Girls by organizing different activities, aiming at advocating girls' rights, access to education and a better life environment. Tbilisi hosted an essay contest for the members of the civic clubs representing Tbilisi and its suburbs. The topic of the contest was girls’ rights. The information about contest was distributed through the social networks administered by civic club members. As a result, more than 20 students took part in the competition out from which five best essays were selected. All the winners of the contest were awarded by certificates and prizes. Gori civic club students organized meeting to discuss issues related to the girls’ rights. Topic of the discussion was reproductive health, threats prevention, early marriage and a healthy lifestyle. Students made presentations about successful women and girls.
