World Heart Day in Rustavi

On September 28, 2013 city Rustavi hosted 5 km bicycle marathon dedicated to World Heart Day. 70 Participants of the event were members of the Rustavi based civics clubs, Peace Corps and other Georgian and European volunteers. The goal of the event was to promote healthy lifestyle and to increase public awareness about the heart diseases. In parallel to the marathon thematic posters exhibition was organized in the central square of Rustavi. Information about the event was shared thorough the social networks. Local municipality, patrol police and private Computer Company supported the city wide event, including provision of the prizes for the winners of the marathon. Event took place in the framework of the Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program (ACETT), which is implemented by PH International and its partners in Georgia.
