Access Summer Camps 2020

Armenia | AM Tavush Outreach | 29 Aug 2020

Despite the challenges caused by the pandemic, throughout July 18 - 31, 2020, within the English Access Microscholarship component of the U.S.G-funded “AM Tavush Outreach” project, implemented by PH International (https://www.ph-int.org/), 60 Armenian students from 3 regional communities of Noyemberyan, Koghb and Berdavan in groups of 20 participated in 10-hour, 2-day online English summer camps.

During the camps the Access students had an opportunity to practice their English language skills as well as to enhance their critical life skills.

The camp guest speakers, USG-funded educational program alumni as well as expert trainers, joined the camps to share their insights and knowledge with the students about many diverse themes, including leadership and personal responsibility, about personality types and career choices, about environmental issues in Armenia and what each citizen can do to help keep our ecology clean and safe, about winning strategies for applying to different educational programs, such as FLEX and UWC.

The reflection sessions with the students evidenced of the success of the camps. The students appreciated the opportunity to discover their strengths and potential for new challenges, think creatively and be able to solve problems, build self-esteem, and become independent thinkers.
