On December 19, 2017, the trainer of the NGO "Parostok" (Sprout) conducted a "Hour of Code" training for 18 students of the 7th grade of the secondary school №33 in Vinnytsia. The training was conducted within the framework of the IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark. The training was aimed at familiarizing students with the basics of programming, while using simple examples explained by well-known people in the field of computer science, and not only. During the training, the students, on their own example, were able to make sure that everyone, if desired, can master the basics of programming.
On November 21, 2017, IDEA Rivne Training Center conducted a workshop for students of National University of Water and Nature Management. During the seminar, participants got acquainted with free online resources for self-education as well as improved their skills in the field of civic education, and computing and programing skills. The youth was especially interested in finding new educational opportunities in the field of programming and entrepreneurship, because, according to the youth, these areas are among the most promising in the labor market.

During the ITBabyFest, the first IT-festival for children in Zaporizhzhya, the IDEA Training Center of NGO Institute of Public Development ‘Ortega-y-Gasset’ made a presentation on using the visual designer of the HomeGame Lab, which allows participants of ‘IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark’ creating 3D games without profound knowledge of the KODU programming language. Participants of the IT-festival, including parents and their children asked a lot of questions and were interested in taking part in further training programs of the IDEA Center.
A presentation of Kodu Game Lab for students of the 7th grade of secondary school №11 of Tokmak city was held on October 10. The trainer taught the students how to create KODU GAME LAB computer games and tools, and showed how they work. The students forgot about the ring for the class break and dreamed about creating their own characters. Everyone without exception was struck by how fast on bright landscapes, characters of the game, interesting visual effects and even sound support can be created at the computer. Guys and girls have plunged into the fantastic world of adventure, which previously seemed inaccessible to ordinary schoolchildren. The children were so enthralled with the theme of the event that they expressed their wish to study programming in the future in more detail.
Within the framework of the IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark, a training was held on the basis of the Kyiv Higher Professional School of Technology and Clothing Design on the topic "Introduction to the Kodu Programming Visual Environment". The event was conducted by a trainer of the IDEA Training Center of NGO ‘Volunteer’. During the class, students got acquainted with the new platform for programming, the process and the main stages of working in it, and created their characters in the game space."
On September 14, 2017, a trainer of the IDEA Center of NGO ‘Chayka’ (Gull) again visited Klevan specialized boarding school for children. The trainer of the IDEA Rivne Educational Center Oksana Salivonchyk, together with the Rivne District Center for Social Services for the Children and Youth Family, again held a training session for students of this educational institution. During the training, IDEA trainer introduced the participants to one of the most popular professions, a programmer. Students were able to try themselves in a programmer role by performing simple tasks. It was especially useful for children to work as a single team. While forming simple logistical blocks children developed logical thinking and imagination. Teamwork helped children understand that it's easy to program!!! Teachers of the institution were also involved in the process, and they were very surprised how easy the children were able to cope with the difficult tasks. On September 13, 2017, the IDEA Training Center "Seagull" (Rivne) hosted a training workshop for unemployed youth at the Rivne district employment center. During the seminar, the participants got acquainted with free online resources for self-education, raising their skills in civic education, computer skills and programmer skills. It was especially interesting for young people to find new educational opportunities in the areas of programming and entrepreneurship. According to young people, these areas are among the most promising in the labor market. The training took place thanks to the IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark.
Within the framework of the IDEA Center work of NGO Institue of Public Development ‘Ortega-y-Gasset’ in Tokmak, a training of trainers was conducted on coding and other Computer Sciences topics. The training included practical exercises on Kodu Game Lab and Wordpress, which greatly improved the competencies of the 10 trainers who participated in the event.
During several Web Design training sessions held by the IDEA Center of NGO "Protection" (Vinnytsya) on September 4-29, 2017, the participants had classes on such topics as including "Basics of Web Design and Web Programming", "Using CSS in Website Design Simulation", and "Fundamentals of PHP to create a website's dynamics". The classes were held within the framework of the IDEA Project Powered by Microsoft YouthSpark.
In Prymorsk city library, a training for children on programming in Kodu was held on August 27, 2017. By their activity, children created an incredible atmosphere during the activity. They were very attentive to what the trainer tough them. During the training, children worked in teams that were given a task to create their own virtual worlds. As the mother of one participant noted, "if my daughter likes it, then the training is successful." After the classes, the children rushed home to continue the on-handed case on their own computers.
