US Ambassador Attends Police Led Legal Culture Class and Interacts with Students and School Community | 27 Oct 2022


US Ambassador Kelly Degnan visited Tskhaltbila Public School of Akhaltsikhe municipality to attend the police-led legal culture lesson within the program „Community Policing Initiative in Minority Regions of Georgia -CPI“.

Ambassador was welcomed by school students, the principal and administration, the head of the Akhaltsikhe educational resource center, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Akhaltsikhe municipality, PH International Director, and the CPI program manager. The Ambassador and guests attended the Legal culture lesson, which was on the topic of road safety. Akhaltsikhe Patrol police officers, Oganes Saponjian and Soso Chilingarashvili, together with the civics teacher delivered the lesson by playing the game and having interactive communication with students.

Municipal Projects are Initiated and Planned by Police Officers | 10 May 2022


On May 3-5 CPI Project participant police officers were trained in using community policing approaches in practice and based on them plan municipal projects. Municipal projects aim to create a precedent and platform of implementing joint initiatives between police and local municipalities related to youth problems.  Policing models, such as SARA and PAT, for analyzing and reacting on problems were introduced to police officers. During the 3 days, police officers worked in three groups according to municipalities Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda.

Meeting with Local Mayors and Chairmen of City Council about Municipal Projects in Samtskhe-Javakheti | 2 May 2022


On May 2 an informational meeting with local municipality mayors and chairmen of city councils of Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda was organized within the framework of Community Pollicing Initiative In Samtskhe-Javakheti Region. CPI Program manager presented the CPI project, its aim and planned activities. Special emphasis was made on implementing partnership municipal projects and the role of local municipalities. Municipal projects aim to foster collaboration between police officers and local municipalities to jointly plan and implement the initiatives addressing problems related to local youth security and wellbeing. Local municipalities were open to partnership and future action steps were planned.

Police Collaborated with Schools to Implement Class Projects on Road Safety and Healthy Lifestyle | 1 Dec 2021

Police officers in collaboration with schools and local community has held  legal culture class projects on road safety and a healthy lifestyle for school children within the framework of the PH International Georgia Office program "Community Policing Initiative in Samtskhe-Javakheti".

The aim of the class projects was to raise the awareness of IX, X, XI grade students on legal culture issues and to promote partnerships between police officers, school children, teachers, school and local community through joint initiatives.

Police officers together with students, teachers, and the local community in Samtskhe-Javakheti's 15 partner schools implemented a variety of activities: sport competitions in volleyball, basketball, football, table tennis, tennis; An exhibition of achievements and successes of local athletes; Movie discussion on the topic of road safety, drawing a zebra crossing near the school, information campaign about driving safely. These activities helped students to raise their awareness about the importance of road safety and a healthy lifestyle through direct communication with the police officers and practical projects.

Police Officers Organized A Study Visit in the Police Department for Samtskhe-Javakheti School Children | 1 Oct 2021


In the framework of PH International program "Community Policing in Samtskhe-Javakheti", police officers from Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda Police Divisions together with teachers organized study visits to police departments for school children.

The school children IX and X grades from the program partner schools enjoyed the possibility to get acquainted with the police work directly in the police building, meeting with the law enforcement officers, asking questions and seeing the work process on the spot. During one of the study visits, the children even wore police uniforms for one day. These study visits were important to raise awareness and interest about the police profession among school children. Approximately 60 students from Akhalkalaki # 1, Khulgumo in Akhalkalaki Municipality and Ninotsminda # 3 public schools participated in the study visit.
