ACPI Follow Up Meeting

Georgia | Adjara Community Policing Initiative | 7 Jul 2016

Adjara Community Policing Initiative (ACPI) program has concluded its activities for FY 1. Follow up meeting took place in Batumi to review implemented activities and identify challenges and best practices that might be useful for year 2 programming. The meeting hosted 10 police officers and 10 teachers from participant schools, as well as Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Autonomous Republic of Adjara , Deputy Head of Programs Management Unit from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia , representative from INL department from US Embassy in Georgia and Deputy Head of Adjara Police.  

During the meeting ACPI program participant teachers and police presented their work and initiatives which they have carried out on school level and on community level. Police officers and teachers worked in groups on problem tree and discussed major problems and issues that exist into their respective communities. The meeting offered a space for police and teachers to state their challenges they faced during year 1 and plan accordingly for second year programming.

ACPI program recognized huge amount of effort that police and teachers put into program implementation and awarded them with certificates of successful participation.
