School-based civics club members of the village Leghvana public school in Kharagauli municipality decided to support students with special educational needs to get vocational education. There are 6 students with special needs at school, because of the difficult location of the village, they will not be able to get professional education.
Tamar Shatirishvili, civics club leader: „Our goal was to create a small workshop at school where these students would be taught to sew. However, we did not have a sewing machine. So, we decided to use social media to find resources. We wrote a post on the Facebook and Katie Meshveliani presented a new sewing machine. Her support is appreciated, she made the idea to come true."
The workshop is already functioning. The special teacher of the school is conducting classes for students for free. The members of the club with the support of “Momavlis Taoba” purchased the necessary materials for the sewing classes. The classes are held with great interest and fun.
