PH International (PH) within the Legal Socialization program in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, funded by, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) -  the U.S. Department of State announce:

 

PUBLIC CALL

to participate in the competition for the selection of mini grants within “Community policing” activities.

 

THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE COMPETITION

The general objective of this competition is strengthening partnership between police, teachers, students, and other local community representatives. The partnership of all community actors is important precondition for successful implementation of the legal socialization concept, and fostering social inclusion as well as strengthening community trust, especially youth towards the police and other public institutions.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THIS COMPETITION for the award of mini grants will contribute to the development and improvement of the skills:

• Leadership in encouraging young people for greater interest in social inclusion
• Promote positive patterns and models  of behavior in local communities

THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMEPETITION HAVE:

Afterschool clubs from elementary and high schools who participate in Legal Socialization Program in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina:

Herzegovina Neretva Canton

Elementary Schools: IV Osnovna škola - Mostar, OŠ Ivana Gundulića - Mostar, OŠ Vladimir Pavlović -Čapljina, Druga Osnovna škola -Konjic, OŠ Suljo Ćilić -Jablanica, OŠ Crnići -Crnići,  Prva osnovna škola – Stolac, OŠ Fra Didaka Buntića -Čitluk

High Schools: Gimnazija Mostar, Mašinsko Saobraćajna škola Mostar, Prometna Škola Mostar, Srednja škola Stolac

Zenica Doboj Canton:

Elementary schools:  OŠ Mak Dizdar- Zenica, OŠ Ćamil Sijerčić- Nemila, OŠ Vareš –Vareš , OŠ Huso Hodžić -Tešanj, OŠ Kulin Ban- Visoko, OŠ Hamdija Kreševljaković- Kakanj, OŠ Fra Ivan Frano Jukić -Usora, OŠ Novi Šeher- Maglaj

The amount of a mini-grant per one afterschool club corresponds to the amount of $ 500 (five hundred US dollars) at the time of purchase or payment of the materials needed to realize the mini project. Required materials to the above amount of the mini grant will be paid by Office PH International according to the specification which is an integral part of the project application.

Afterschool clubs can join and apply a joint project that will be scored according to the criteria of an individual project (e.g. for the criteria "A police officer named as a mentor in the process of preparing the application and implementing the mini project "should be 2 police officers if two schools decide to apply together, or within the criteria "Number of students in afterschool club" should be at least 20 students involved in afterschool club if two schools are applying together).

The deadline for completion of the project implementation is 1 November 2018

IMPORTANT NOTE:

ONE OF THE CONDITIONS FOR ACCEPTING THE APPLICATION SCHOOL NEEDS TO OBTAIN ALL NECESSRY APPROVALS FOR PUBLICATION THE PROJECT ACTIVITIES ON THE PH INTERNATIONAL WEB SITE

The Commission for selection the 18 best mini grants is made up of the Curriculum Development Team and representatives of PH International.

CRITERIA FOR THE SELECTION OF THE BEST PROJECTS FOR SUPPORT OF (18) MINI GRANTS

• Number of police officers as members of afterschool clubs - Table 2 (max 2 points)
• Number of students in afterschool club - minimum ten (10) students per one afterschool club (max 5 points)
• Participation of students in afterschool clubs coming from classrooms where PSP has not been implemented (max 3 points)
• The technical quality of the application (clearly identified and defined: problem / idea, goals, results, activities) (max 3 points)
• Number of volunteers involved (young people, parents, other schools ...)
• Influence and clear message to young people for leadership in actions for greater social inclusion (max 5 points)
• The quality of the budget presented with the specification of the required materials (max 3 points)
• Contribution and support of other community actors (municipalities, businesses, parents, local media) in money and service goods stated  in the budget (max 3 points)

 

THE METHOD FOR DELIVERING PROPOSALS:

Proposals need to be sent with the fulfilled application form available in the end of this public call.

Deadline for the proposal submission is Monday, September 10, 2018. and a results will be published on Thursday, September 27, 2018.

Following the publication of projects selected for the implementation of the mini grants, projects should be realized no later than November 1, 2018, which includes the delivery of the report on the realization.

Incomplete and late application will not be considered.
