Armenia | Armenia Legal Education and Active Participation | 10 Oct 2018

Within the Armenia LEAP Career development component presentations of successful women in judicial-legal sector in 3 regions of Armenia have launched.

During October, a panel of 8-10 successful women, with a twist, are visiting high schools in Armavir, Kotayk and Ararat regions to talk to students on their careers in law enforcement and justice sector, focusing on the successes and challenges they have faced as female professionals. This career advising program is carried out by PH International in close cooperation with the "State Methodological Center for Professional Orientation" SNCO at the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The presentations are focused on the importance of career development, gender discrimination/ stereotypes which female professionals usually face in their carrier and the ways they address these challenges. High school students, both girls and boys from the selected regions are exposed to the positive role models and are motivated with their stories to make their final choice in their future career.

The first three visits are successfully conducted in 3 high schools from Kotayk region. Over 100 students have already attended the panel discussions and have demonstrated interest in careers in judicial and legal sectors. PH International staff conducts pre and post survey to identify new interest of students in the careers in the justice/law enforcement sector.
