PH International is seeking host families for university students from Russia ages 18-20 interested in environmental sustainability. These students will be visiting Vermont through PH International’s Russian Youth Environmental (RYEP) Program. This program is designed to help Russian youth develop a sense of civic responsibility through workshops, seminars, site visits and activities focusing on the primary themes of leadership development, community engagement, with a focus on environmental sustainability. Participants will spend a total of four weeks in the U.S. including a week at the Environmental Sustainability Institute at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, two weeks in Vermont attending a one-week Youth Leadership Academy and participation in community service projects, followed by a cultural visit to Washington, D.C. Youth participants will be placed in homestays during their time in Vermont to learn about American culture and family life. Host families are asked to provide a comfortable and clean place to sleep, breakfast and dinner, minimal transportation to centralized pick-up and drop-off locations and some weekend activities.
