PH International

USA | Russian Youth Environmental Program | 11 Apr 2018

PH International is seeking host families for university students from Russia ages 18-20 interested in environmental sustainability. These students will be visiting Vermont through PH International’s Russia Youth Environmental Program (RYEP). This program is designed to help Russian youth develop a sense of civic responsibility through workshops, seminars, site visits and activities focused on leadership development, community engagement and environmental sustainability. Participants will spend a total of four weeks in the U.S. including 10 days at the Environmental Sustainability Institute at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, 10 days in Vermont attending service-learning days with local environmentally focused organizations and businesses, and a final cultural visit to Washington, D.C. Youth participants will be placed in homestays during their time in Vermont to learn about American culture and family life. Host families are asked to provide a comfortable and clean place to sleep, breakfast and dinner, minimal transportation to centralized pick-up and drop-off locations no more than 5 miles from a given home and some weekend activities. We recognize the diversity of American 'families' and encourage all to apply whether a couple or single, with or without kids, living in an apartment or house, etc.

We are currently recruiting interested host families for July 6-16th and/or August 16-26st or any shorter portion of the participant’s stay during these dates. To find out more about hosting opportunities in July or August, please contact Renee Berrian, Ivan Tabanin or Rosalie Wright-Lapin at (802) 496-4545 or email at
