PH International opens three Cisco Entrepreneur Institutes in Russia

Russia | North Caucasus Entrepreneur Capacity Building Program | 27 May 2011

The North Caucasus region features well-known challenges in terms of conflict, low levels of civic participation, uneven access to education, and few opportunities for employment, exacerbated by limited access to new technologies. In response to these challenges PH International, in collaboration with USAID and Cisco Systems, is building entrepreneur institutes in the region.

From May 11th – May 17th two new Cisco Entrepreneur Institutes were launched this past week in the cities of Pyatigorsk and Makhachkala and there are plans to launch a third institute in the city of Stravropol next week. Over the course of the next few months more than 100 energetic future entrepreneurs from throughout the Northern Caucasus will take a course titled “Starting a Business” and learn the fundamentals of opening their own businesses.

The 55 hour online course was developed by Cisco Systems, translated and localized to meet Russian standards by Moscow State University and was made possible through the generous funding and support of USAID.

After taking tests and receiving certification these students will have the basic skills necessary to realize their dreams of becoming leaders of the next generation of entrepreneurs.
