Stavropol, Pyatigorsk, and Makhachkala have completed the course “Starting a Business” | cisco / usaid ncep | 8 Aug 2011


PH International is proud to announce that 33 students in Stavropol, 28 students in Makhachkala, and 30 students in Pyatigorsk have completed the course “Starting a Business” at the local Cisco Entrepreneur Institutes. Their final assignment was to write a business plan, which they could turn into concrete small to medium-sized businesses.

In April 2011, Bilateral Presidential Commission Exchange Program brought a group of six individual women who are all involved in the promotion of innovation in business and entrepreneurship, either with the government or in a wide variety of private business to the US to expose them to mentorship and practical training that will enhance the skills needed to grow their businesses. The program took place in both Washington, DC and in the Silicon Valley area in California.

Bilateral Presidential Commission's Protected Areas Group Concludes Training in the U.S. | forecast pt russia | 11 Mar 2011


On March 4, 2011, a delegation of 19 Russian specialists returned from a two-week training program in the U.S. through the US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission. The Protected Areas program was organized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service. The Russian group included representatives of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Directors of Russian national parks and environmental training centers. The exchange was designed to expose participants to ways in which American organizations balance conservation, economic development and public access, as well as provide opportunities for collaboration between Russian and American counterparts for increased cooperation and adoption of new public outreach and educational tools. In addition to meetings with the NPS, FWS and USFS, the delegation also visited Apalachicola National Forest, St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve and Biscayne National Park.

On February 13, 2011, a group of fifteen Russian researchers and students returned from the U.S., where they were hosted by the Tahoe-Baikal Institute. The two-week visit, implemented within the Bilateral Presidential Commission exchange program, was aimed at investigating the characteristics of waterbodies and ecosystems that are under the influence of natural and industrial factors. The group's agenda included discussions, presentations and site visits to Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake. During the program the participants developed strategies and action plans for applying the ideas, lessons and approaches learned on the tour. In addition, Russian delegates and their American colleagues identified areas for future collaboration between the two countries.
