Students of the village of Ozurgeti public school conducted an advocacy campaign to increase public awareness about the needs of people with special needs. Students studied the Georgian regulations for better integration of people with special needs into society, and prepared a video clip for informing people about them. Supported by the school administration, a ramp was constructed at the entrance of the school.
Students of the Village of Akhalabastumani Public School in Zugdidi municipality established good cooperation with local organizations to renovate and equip the laboratory of natural sciences in the school.
The goal of the mini-grant project “Friendship is a Bridge” initiated by Gurkeli public school students was to open a small computer center in the village and provide an employment opportunity for a local resident with special needs.
On September 20, 2016 a museum of the victims of Soviet political repressions was opened in Kaspi Gymnasium. The museum is located in the basement of the gymnasium, which used to be a former Militsiya (police) building during the Soviet Union, where the victims of political repressions were detained.
An essay writing workshop for the students of MT program partner schools was held in Ateni Gorge. The workshop was facilitated by the journalist Nino Chibchiuri. Nino was a participant in an essay contest in Egypt and her essay on the topic “Religion and Democracy” was one of the best.
Students of Village Bejano Armenian-language public school in Samtskhe-Javakheti region carried out an advocacy campaign to arrange conference hall in the school with the support from MT mini-grant project.
Students of Ivane Javakhishvili School of Borjomi initiated a project aimed to integrate their peers with special needs into society and involve them in decision making process. The project started with training on inclusion of children with special needs.
Village Odzisi public school students in the framework of MT mini-grant project decided to create a working space at school where students would be able to plan, organize and conduct different activities.
