On February 10, 2017 Center for civic engagement in Gori hosted students from Shida Kartli region partner schools of civics education Momavlis Taoba program. Students presented projects carried out for the benefit of their schools and communities. Exhibition of posters reflecting the work of students was presented as well.
Through MT program, students implemented projects covering the topics, such as human rights, bullying, healthy lifestyle, environmental protection, road safety and other.
The guests of the event were Ms. Lia Gigauri, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mr. Douglas Ball, USAID Georgia Mission Director, Susan Kutor, Acting Deputy Administrator for E&E, USAID and Ms. Marina Ushveridze, Chief of Party of Civic Education “Momavlis Taoba” Program. They highlighted the importance of young citizens meaningful civic participation for Georgia’s future democratic development and emphasized the role of schools for raising a new generation engaged citizens.
The event was attended by Mr. Berdia Natvlishvili, PH international Georgia Country Director, representatives of local administration and NGOs as well as students, teachers, school administration and Media.
USAID funded Momavlis Taoba program is implemented by PH International and supported by Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
