Youth Festival in Akhalkalaki

Youth Festival was held in in the framework of the USAID-funded "Momavlis Taoba" program in Akhalkalaki, Samtske-Javakheti region. Participants of the festival were MT program partner Georgian and Armenian sector schools students from the region.

Festival started with the quiz competition at Akhalkalaki “House of Future.” Topics of the quiz were - human rights, integration with EU and NATO and cooperation with local government for community benefit. Festival continued in sports complex where mini-football competition was held among the girls’ and boys’ teams. At the end of the Festival, in the central park of Akhalkalaki students presented flash mob. Friendship won in all competitions as the goal of the festival was integration of the students of the different nationalities and promotion of healthy lifestyle among the youth.

The event was attended by the representatives of the school administration, local government, education resource center, public defender’s Akhalkalaki office, teachers and parents from MT partner schools.

The event was covered by local media –TV “Channel 9” and Radio “NOR”.
