Georgia | Momavlis Taoba - Civic Education Program | 22 Jul 2016

A three-day camp, “School of Self-governance for Civics Students”, was held in Tskaltubo. Participants of the school were students from MT partner schools in Imereti, Racha–Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions. The aim of the camp was to provide information about self-governance, in particular its functions, rights, responsibilities, and budget. Students also completed internships at Kutaisi City Hall and learned about the work of different departments. Students met with the governor and deputy governor of the Kutaisi City Assembly and asked many questions.

“We had an interesting time at a camp, full of positive emotions and also gained knowledge which we’ll use in civics activities” – said Ana Akhvlediani, a civics club student from Khopuri public school.

At the end of the camp, all the students were awarded with certificates.
